Messy Timing = Confused Dog

Hey Reader,

Ever told your dog “off”... and got a blank stare?

Here’s why it happens:

Your timing’s off. Or your follow-through’s fuzzy.
Dogs live in the
now. If a reward or correction happens even two seconds too late, they won’t connect it to the behavior.

You just confused them.

But timing isn’t enough.
Consistency is what makes it stick.

Use the same word every time.
Enforce the same rule every time.
Make sure everyone in your house does the same.

Dogs are pattern masters.
If the pattern is clear, results come fast.

Want to see real change? Say what you mean, and mean it every time.

Keep it consistent,
– Ineke & Dante 🐾
